Free your mind

What to expect from neurofeedback training.

Trauma causes your brain to adapt. Ingeniously, you rewire yourself to better handle the trauma experience. When trauma ceases, your brain holds on to a protective state. The energy that is diverted to maintain this level of hypervigilance (from trauma) robs the self-regulation parts of the brain.

Neurofeedback quietly intervenes by retraining your brain to overcome defensive thought-patterns. Your brain is smart. As opportunities to run more efficiently present themselves to the brain, your neural connections calmly lean into wiser choices that benefit your wellbeing.

Opening the door to:

Here is what we do together

Here are the steps.

FIRST, we offer a free consultation to learn about your current struggles and symptoms and discuss if you may be a good candidate for neurofeedback services. If so, we will explore how

neurofeedback may assist to reduce your specific symptoms.

SECOND, after your consultation, the initial neurofeedback appointment consists of a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG), otherwise known as a Brain Map, in order to collect data on what your brainwaves are doing and how they relate to your symptoms. As noninvasive and painless as an ultrasound, this snapshot of your brain activity provides the necessary information for the neurofeedback specialist to create a protocol to increase or decrease the activity of your brain waves at certain brain sites to reduce symptoms.

THIRD, you will attend one-hour training sessions 2x per week. Here you will have visual screen training (for eyes open protocols) and/or music (for eyes closed protocols). A cap or single electrodes are applied to the scalp via gel or paste to create connectivity. The electrodes read your brainwave activity and the data is then sent to the computer. This information gives feedback to the client via audio, visual, and/or tactile cues which promote symptom reduction and brain balance.

THE RESULTS>>> Gradually, the brain learns to move and keep the brainwaves in more optimal positions creating a powerful path to healing and on-going maintenance.

Neurofeedback theraputic Benefits

For Example

Research over the past 40 years has shown that neurofeedback can be highly effective in altering brain dysregulation via principles of neuroplasticity, without the use of medication, in a non-invasive manner. Now imagine how this works to the benefit of trauma sufferers.
